MUSSY - (J.I.G II)
Banknote printing
To mark the release of Mussy's album JIG II on 29 July 2022, the Parisian label Saturn Citizen Records, where the artist is signed, asked me to design a unique double-sided banknote to promote the release of the musical project.
In keeping with the label's and the artist's desire to be in tune with the times, I opted for an aesthetic reminiscent of old banknotes, while bringing in more contemporary visuals such as watermarks and holographic symbols to modernise the whole. Finally, the illustrations on the banknote were created by engraving, which is a common and most widely used method of making banknotes around the world. A portrait of the rapper Mussy can be seen in the centre, with a fountain emblematic of the city of Lyon, where the rapper is from, on either side: the Bartholdi fountain (Place des Terreaux).
